Matagarup Zip+Climb is a unique activity. We are committed to being inclusive and catering to a broad range of accessibility needs. Due to the structural nature of the bridge and the physical requirements of the experience, some guests with individual needs may not be able to participate in any part of the climb or zip line. There is no lift or alternative access to the summit.
We aim to support inclusion where safely possible.
The experience involves physical challenges, including the requirement to ascend up to 315 stairs while wearing a full body harness and utilising a hand held safety device. Participants are also required to hold onto a t-bar while zipping 400m over the Swan River.
For the safety of guests and our staff, participation by people with individual needs are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Virtual Reality Zip+Climb ($10)
Zipline without leaving the ground! Unsure about heights or not sure your you can do the climb?
Everyone including special needs/mobility impaired/neuro diverse people can have the chance to experience a simulation of the one-of-a-kind zipline from Matagarup Bridge.
Inside a dedicated, quiet VR room, guests are equipped with hygienically cleaned VR goggles and seated in a comfortable swivel chair, allowing them to take in the full zipline experience in stunning detail.
The experience includes arrival at Matagarup HQ, then kitting up with harness, helmet and zipline trolley, then heading over to the bridge. From there, you will be transported up the bridge to appreciate the uninterrupted 360 degree views of the Swan River, the Burswood Peninsula, Optus Stadium and the beautiful Perth skyline.
Finally, you will be at the launch platform with the 400m zipline in front of you. When you are ready – ZIP! Feel free to enjoy the zip over and over during your time (up to 10 mins).
Perfect for nervous participants, those unsure about heights, younger visitors, older guests, and people with mobility or sensory needs, this experience ensures everyone can be part of the adventure.
Parents and carers can relax nearby, watching the journey unfold on an HD screen.
Try before you buy: If, after purchasing and experiencing the VR, you decide to take on the real thing, we will credit back $10 toward to the cost of a zipline.
